Working together.

Newark Working Kitchens Delivers works with participating restaurants to onboard them to an app ordering system that costs a fraction of what similar app services normally cost. From there, NWKD enlists local corporations and other large employers to sign up so that their employees can order lunches from these restaurants, to be delivered conveniently to their workplaces. The idea is to connect large and small businesses in a supportive ecosystem where storefronts stay occupied and jobs are created, so that we all thrive together.

What’s more, for every meal ordered, a meal is delivered to a Newark resident in need. NWKD works with the City of Newark and community organizations to determine where these meals are needed most: low-income senior, family and disabled housing and organizations serving the homeless. NWKD collaborates distribution with tenants associations and a growing list of community organizations that serve thousands of people daily.

Our network includes the Ironbound Community Corporation, Bridges Outreach, FOCUS Hispanic Center for Community Development, Newark Emergency Services for Families, Palm Street Block Association, NJCRI/Crossroads Drop-in Center, Tree House Cares, Willing Heart Community Care Center, and the YMCA.

“Our job as providers is to ensure that everyone receives equal access to the resources that are available so that they can enjoy the decent quality of life that we all deserve.”

Amina Bey, Executive Director, Newark Emergency Services for Families
