“A Night at the Drive-in” with Michael B. Jordan and Amazon Prime Video.

Celebrating Black cinema at Newark Moonlight Cinema on a perfect August night, the event raised awareness of Newark Working Kitchens with messages on the big screen from Michael B. Jordan and Chef Marcus Samuelsson. Moviegoers were treated to food from six Black-owned NWK restaurants - Blueprint Café, Burger Walla, King’s #1 Family Restaurant, Marcus B&P, Panzz Seafood & Wings and Uncle Willie’s Wings.

“I grew up with a firsthand view of the food economy in Newark because my dad worked at a food bank and my family had a small catering business. I see how this crisis has deeply changed my hometown. And so, I’m proud that this partnership not only sustains restaurants through catering orders for people in need, but it also feeds workers going out every day in spite of this crisis.”
